Time coming for light rail?

Does anyone really believe that gasoline prices will not go back up? How will people working in Indianapolis but living in Madison or Delaware Counties afford commuting? Looks we have caught onto the idea even if our politicians have not. Chamber study shows support for mass transit:
"Funding for mass transit, as well as continued government reform, top the Greater Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce's wish list for the 2009 legislative session.

Results from a mass-transit study conducted by the local business advocacy group and the Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of Realtors in late 2008 show broad support for a mass-transit system. Study results were released this month.

Of the 1,434 registered voters surveyed in the nine-county metropolitan area, 61 percent 'strongly agree' that additional transportation options are needed. In addition, another 26 percent said they 'somewhat agree.'

Shrinking state revenue and a budget shortfall will make lining up spending for many projects difficult, however."
