He Cannot Get Enough of Madison County - Rodney Cummings Back for the Neal case?

From The Herald Bulletin comes Cummings may return to Neal case:

"Crane, a U.S. Army Reservist, was called back to active duty at the end of December and is expected to be on the tour of duty for no more than a year. He filed a motion to have Cummings, who originally filed the charges against Neal, appointed special prosecutor in his absence. He cites Cummings’ experience in the Neal case in making the request.

“As sitting prosecutor at the time these actions were brought, he is well familiar with the evidence, legal issues and related matters as to all criminal prosecutions as well as the pending civil action,” Crane writes in the motion filed in Madison Superior Court 3. “He is an experienced attorney who served three terms as Madison County prosecutor and was very involved in the long-term investigation. ...”"

Cummings, currently a deputy prosecutor in Marion County, said Friday he would accept the appointment if he were selected by Judge Thomas Newman.

“I am a prosecutor, and if Judge Newman wants me to do it, I’ll do the best I can,” Cummings said. “All I care about is that someone takes the case and takes it seriously.”

Court officials said Newman would likely make his selection by Friday, Jan. 16.

Attorneys for Neal’s daughters, Cheryl L. Eagan, 51, and Vicky L. Massey, 53, who were also charged in connection with the case, asked that Newman deny the motion. In court documents, they ask the judge to appoint either J.A. Cummins, a former Chief Deputy Prosecutor in Delaware County, or Tipton County Prosecutor J.D. Rich to take the case.

Which also allows Mr. Cummings to make a splash in preparing to run again for Madison County Prosecutor?
