Bill Richardson Out and other Presidential Candidate News

Evidence that I know nothing about presidential politics: at the start I favored Richardson. Maybe another time he might have done better (as might have done Dodd and Biden) but that was before the Obama/Clinton juggernaut. Still, I find stuff like this in Bill Richardson, Seeing Good in Everyone indicating a candidate we should be proud of:
In his years as a diplomatic negotiator, Bill Richardson learned to never offend anyone and to look for something positive in each individual. So as Mr. Richardson, New Mexico’s governor, ended his presidential bid Thursday, before about 300 well-wishers at the Statehouse in Santa Fe, he had a nice word for the candidates in the Democratic field. Yes, even for former Senator Mike Gravel of Alaska, who is still in the race.

Speaking of the Obama/Clinton juggernaut, those could get me in trouble at home. The wife tends towards Clinton and me towards Obama. The more i see the two of them, the more I think they would work better as a team. Sound crazy? I can think of one president starting his presidency as the underdog who filled his cabinet with his rivals. Come to think of it, Obama is also from Illinois.

Seems that the mechanics of electioneering dominates the news and the pundits. Taking Down Word, however, highlights the goal of all this electioneering. TDW has set itself up to provide a running total of the candidates' delegate totals. See Play Along At Home: MyDD Counters Keep Track Of Primary Delegates for an explanation.
