Anderson City Council Moving Money

The following numbers come today's Herald-Bulletin:

Transfer of money within the food and beverage fund:

- $106,800 from Building Construction to Salaries

- $20,000 from Building Construction to Insurance

- $7,875 from Building Construction to PERF

- $6,510 from Building Construction to FICA

- $1,523 from Building Construction to Medicare

- $22,292 from Building Construction to Bridge Improvements

- $30,000 from Paving to Travel

- $170,000 from Paving to Business Incentives

- $203,000 from Consulting to Business Incentives

Then there was this:
Currently, the director of economic development and the office manager of the community development and long-range planning department are paid fully out of the community development budget. Dawson requested for 50 percent of the salaries be paid out of food and beverage because both positions work for both the community development and economic development departments.

As a friend or two of mine keep asking: if we are not building a convention center, why do we still have this tax?
