Earlier this week David S. Broder wrote a column with the headline
Trying Times for the Obama Faithful:
"But the steady drumbeat of polls showing Clinton with more support than all the other Democrats combined -- and twice as much as Obama -- is taking a toll. In their private moments, they wonder whether even Obama, gifted as he is, can pull off this feat."
Then from today's New York Times has
Obama Promises a Forceful Stand Against Clinton:
Senator Barack Obama said he would start confronting Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton more directly and forcefully, saying Friday that she had not been candid in describing her views on critical policy issues, as he tries to address mounting alarm among supporters that his lack of assertiveness so far has allowed her to dominate the presidential race.
Being from Indiana, I know that our primary counts as much for the presidential election as spit in a hurricane. I remain as enthused about Hillary as I do for a Big Mac while Obama and Dodd and Richardson (who does seem to be disappearing) do keep my interest going. That said, a Democratic Big Mac still beats any prospective Republican meal.
