Anyone wanting to help start a local First Book organization?

This is from Mayor Smith's last e-mail newsletter and something worth passing along:

First Book - Lifetime Learning

Literacy is on the minds of a community-minded group of folks who hope to start a local First Book organization. First Book is an international non-profit organization with a mission to give children from low income families the opportunity to read and own their own first book.

Contact Diane Woodcock at 765-641-1252, Ext. 2, if you would like to serve on the Central Indiana Advisory Board. Professionals who are interested in children, literacy and the local community, as well as businesses and corporations that may assist are invited to participate!
