Just one about the race

Ok, I am old enough to think of their being only one race - the 500. I am also too old to recognize the names any more. So I really do not take much of an interest, but curiousity got the better of me when I saw that a Scotsman won the race. Here is The Scotman's (the Scottish newspaper and not the racer) description of our race:
