Update: Lugar For Secretary of State?

IBJ.Com reports Lugar not interested in Secretary of State.

U.S. Sen. Richard Lugar isn’t interested in becoming secretary of state in the administration of President-elect Barack Obama, according to an MSNBC report today.

Nor is Lugar interested in any other position in Obama’s cabinet, the report said.

Too bad. I suspect that Lugar would find working with Obama easier than W.. On the other hand, it does not give the state Republicans a chance to groom a successor. The IBJ has a more detailed background on Lugar here.
