An Idea for Madison County?

That was what I got thinking when I read No business left behind from the Indianapolis Star.

"But the Business Ownership Initiative of Indiana -- and its affiliated Central Indiana Women's Business Center -- have stayed true to their mission of providing business counseling services, and an occasional microloan, to aspiring minority and female entrepreneurs."

The 20-hour Business Beginnings course, which costs as little as $25 and covers topics such as business planning, goal setting, financing, marketing, sales forecasting and cash-flow management, is still the backbone of the nonprofit's training program. It follows an Exploring Business Ownership course, which helps people gauge whether they are ready to take the plunge. The nonprofit also offers training in areas such as child-care business ownership, as well as help applying for microloans from $500 to $10,000.
