I wonder about our state senators

No, I don't really. I am just being too kind to point out the obvious obliviousness behind this report from The Muncie Star-Press: Bill would require inmates to serve at least 85 percent of sentence. After all, Win Moses did a fine job pointed out the senatorial cluelessness:
Rep. Win Moses, D-Fort Wayne, said proponents of the provision were taking a “leap of faith” on added costs, saying such a law could be expensive.
Er, like new prisons and probably bigger ones, too.

Being tough on crime sounds good till you start totalling up the costs of being tough on crime instead of smart about crime.

Then add to that Bad actors from Beth Murphy's blog at The Indianapolis Star:
Indignant, state senators rejected a bill, offered by Sen. Patricia Miller, that would have required legislators to wait one year after leaving office before they could become lobbyists for the Indiana General Assembly. They acted insulted by the suggestion that such restraint was necessary. This dud of a performance was worth a Razzie, which goes to Hollywood’s biggest stinkers.
With the Indiana Senators insulated by gerrymandered seats, nothing much will change there but do remember the Republicans rule the Indiana Senate. The indignation rightly belongs to us and not our Senators.
