The Indianapolis Business Journal reported on the Madison County Planning Commission's tabling Simpler Times Village's development plans. See Planned 'village' runs into modern tangles. For once I think the Herald-Bulletin provides more information than the IBJ.
On Sept. 4, after failing to reach a consensus for the third time, the Madison County Technical Review Committee advanced the proposal to the Planning Commission with no recommendation. Its intention was to accelerate the process, but the ruling may cause more delays. Now Planning Commission members have requested oral or written testimony from each member of the Technical Review Committee in his particular area of expertise.
Simpler Times Village appears to be unlike any other planned-unit development in Madison County. The brainchild of Josh and Sarah Brown of Fortville, the development would combine residential, commercial and agricultural uses with a design aesthetic inspired by medieval European villages. Under their business entity, Little Village Makers LLC, the Browns have secured an option on 127 acres in Adams Township.
The County Clerk has more complaints from the primary about the electronic machines. State receives 16 more election complaints. The Herald-Bulletin does not report why it has taken so long for the complaints to surface.
Masson's Blog has started a series on the Indiana Constitution: Indiana Constitution: Article I, Section 1, Indiana Constitution: Article I, Section 2, and Indiana Constitution: Article I, Section 3. I suggest reading these.
