Anderson seeking brownfields grant

From yesterday's Herald-Bulletin, something that deserve spreading about:

The city is looking for public input about brownfields in the area.

To prepare an application for a $1 million U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Brownfield revolving loan fund grant, Anderson has asked that people in the city let officials know where they think brownfields are a problem and what brownfield areas should be used for after redevelopment.

Brownfields are properties that have or are perceived to have environmental contamination that complicates redevelopment.

The application for the grant is due in mid-October. The public meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, in Conference Room 1 in the City Building.
