Sharing more Meat and Potatoes

Another item from last week's e-mail newsletter from the Mayor. Seems that some Anderson Parks now are free wi-fi areas. I suppose if I can ever figure out to use the wireless thing on my laptop that I could go down to the park to work or hang out in the Town Center. It is a good thing and we on this side of the political fence ought to be chagrined that it came under this administration. Well, here is what the Mayor had to say on the subject.

Wireless internet became available in six Anderson parks this week. It’s a one-year pilot project made possible by our aggressive pursuit of technology

Three years ago, we made the decision to pursue state of the art technology for Anderson. It’s a quality of life advancement that benefits our job creation effort and it has delivered internet access to every public school in Anderson. Our technology advancements are providing automated reading of meters for customers of our water and electric utilities.

Other parks may be added, but the parks introduced this week include:

  • Town Center Park, 12th & Meridian
  • Shadyside (west of Killbuck Creek), 1112 N. Broadway
  • Gen. Pulaski Park, East 38th St. and Forest Terrace
  • Jackson Park, 22nd & Raible
  • Athletic Park, East 8th & Wilcon St.
  • Grandview-Harmon Park, 2030 Van Buskirk Rd.
