Yesterday Downtown Anderson

The farmer's market consisted of one vendor. I did not get his name but got a wonderful watermelon and the word that he will be at 14th and Madison in about 10 days.

Saw the Mayor and got an earful from him and he got one back. Especially after I was wearing an Ockomon button. I met Kevin Smith when I was in 10th grade World History and he has not changed much. More about our conversation later today.

Dawana Felty was running a booth with wreaths made out of all kinds of things. I particularly liked the Christmas wreath made out of old Christmas balls. I have pictures and I will have those in a later post.

The City of Anderson had a booth. They were polling on what were the biggest issues for Anderson. I told Tom Chaille (yes, the City Attorney manned the booth) that I hoped they would publish the results. Does anyone doubt that economic development wins? I do not. I just realized that unscientific polls may have a quality shared with stopped clocks.

The Anderson Art Center had a booth and I got some material from them - which I cannot find right now. Folks, go visit this place. It is the old Carnegie Library. Another post when I find these materials.

Ockomon had a booth and I got some materials but they are wherever the Art Center materials are hiding.

The family had a cheeseburger, drink and fries from the bar down on the square. Cooked outside, and that charred taste of a good hamburger.

The Mallard Lake activists has their booth. This war has gone on longer than the Trojan War. The materials these folks gave me are not where they should be, probably playing poker with all the other stuff I picked up and figured would wind up on this blog.

Stopped at the Brothers Catering tent. Their business card says: "Bar-b-que is our Speciality." I tried one of their pulled pork sandwiches and it was great. I would love to see them next month at Muncie's Barbeque Festival, but I doubt that will happen this year since the next time for one of these shindigs downtown conflicts with the Festival.

Okay, photos and a few more posts about yesterday later on today and now I need to get back to work.
