Intermodal Anderson

I saw this Evansville Courier & Press article before I was caught by a train on Columbus Avenue. I sat watching the train going by loaded with truck imprinted with the word "Intermodal". The The following is from the Evansville article:

A new intermodal facility in Gibson County would result in large economic benefits for Southwest Indiana, a consultant told a group of Evansville-area business leaders Tuesday.

A 2005 study commissioned by the Gibson County Chamber of Commerce found a market exists for such a facility, which would be used as a transfer point for goods and commodities distributed by rail and truck, said John DiDomizio, business development director for Morley and Associates.

Evansville, I know, has a couple of advantages thanks to its geography. The questions we need to asking are these:
  1. Has anyone been thinking of Anderson and Madison County for an intermodal facility?
  2. If not, why not?
  3. If we are not suitable, then why not?
The evidence supports no one has even thought about the area for an intermodal facility. For me, that means no one has really thought of the transportation possibilities for Anderson
