Delaware County is thinking of one for its courthouse. Nothing new about these, I remember reading an article about them years ago and the idea interested me enough to do some minor research on them. I agree with the editorial in the Muncie Star- Press that can be found here.
What impressed me first is something that the Star-Press did not mention. That is the possibility of using a downtown of green roofs as a tourist attraction. If people will travel to see a tree growing out of a courthouse's tower, what will they do with a bunch of green roofs? The true answer to that question depends on how the plan is implemented and how well it is promoted.
