The International Times Herald has its Managing Globalization blog. Very stylish and actually a bit daunting with the depth of its coverage. I will spend some time exploring it but it looks very rewarding. I will probably add this to the blogroll when I get time. Here is a paragraph as an example of its style:
The battle between the barefaced pragmatists and the so-called moralists continues. Earlier I wrote about China’s cultivation of economic allies in Africa. Now, according to our Steven Lee Myers, Russia is talking soft on Iran at the United Nations while considering a deal that could lead to price-setting for natural gas with the same pariah nation.I know that I will be adding The Asia Times. I used to be a subscriber to its e-mail notices but gave that up when I needed more time for my real work. The Asia Times taught me how much news we do not get here in Anderson, or Indiana and even the United States. (For example how much do you know about what is going on in and with India?). Actually, this one does have local importance. With our mayor traipsing off to China, it might be good for us here to have some idea of what is going on over there. I learned there was a lot going on over in Asia and not all of it in China. Oh, here is a bit of an example for the paper:
US-China: A turn for the worseWell worth reading and probably one of two or three papers I regret no longer reading. This one will go on the blogroll for sure.
If last week's hearings of the US-China Economic and Security Review Commission are any indication, 2007 may be a year when the US broadly revisits its policies toward Beijing and begins pushing more assertively for substantive changes, militarily, politically and economically. A big factor in the hardening attitude is China's successful test of an anti-satellite weapon. - Benjamin A Shobert (Feb 5, '07)
