Let's see what has happened in the last few weeks:
Mancor announces opening a plant in Anderson. The number of employees? 80 over the next three years.
The two city high schools go on academic probation but two of those schools reach the Sweet 16 at the State Fair band contest. Muncie has it problems, too.
I noticed that the H-B does have a business section but I still find it does not compare well with the Muncie Star-Press' business section.
The county passed a moratorium on confined animal feeding operations. I think this is the last thing that Madison County needs but seems to be what our governor sees as cutting edge economic development for the state's farmers. Attorney E. Thomas Kemp over in Richmond has a blog that follows CAFO development and, if you have any interest in the subject, I suggest you take a look at his blog.
The mayor go to China for economic development. Meanwhile, Muncie entertains visitors from Japan.
Oh, yeah, Greensburg got the Honda plant.
Guide's Plant 9 got sold and the buyer bought land near the Flagship.
Lindsay Whitehurst has caught my eye with her reporting on local economic development. I wonder how long this reporting on localbusiness and politics comes to an end.
The local Karma is closing. I admit that I do not buy music like I did when I was younger (hey, there is only so much space), but I got a little sentimental here. I bought my first LP at the old Sun Records. That was over at 38th Street and Madison Avenue. That was also the first time I ever saw a wet T-shirt contest.
